What taxes are imposed in Center Township?
The Township operates with a real estate tax, realty transfer tax, local services tax, earned income tax, mercantile tax, and business privilege tax.
What is the current real estate millage rate?
Center Township total millage rate for real estate is 4.41 based on the assessed value of your property. The breakdown is .75 mills for the General Fund, 1.8 mills for Fire Protection, and 1.86 for Debt Service (Maintenance Facility Building).
If your property is assessed at $50,000.00 you will pay $37.50 for General Fund purposes, $90.00 for Fire Protection purposes, and $93.00 for Debt Service.

What is the rate of the realty transfer tax?
The realty transfer tax rate is two percent (2%) of the sale price of property. One percent (1%) is paid to the state, one-half percent (.5%) is paid to Butler School District, and one-half percent (.5%) is paid to Center Township.
These monies are collected and disbursed by Butler County Recorder of Deeds.
What is the rate of the local services tax?
Effective January 1, 2010, the local services tax rate is $52.00. If you make less than $12,000 you may apply for an upfront exemption or refund. For more details, click here.
